People often falsely assume everything that happens must be God’s will because He is God. You’ve probably heard the phrases, “Everything happens for a reason,” or “God allowed it.” Or God is sovereign when talking about sickness, disease or evil on the earth. I personally don’t like these sayings because to me it sounds like God is responsible for all the bad things that happen in this world.
God is good ALL the time! In Genesis when God created everything, He always said it is good. He created everything perfect and for us. Adam and Eve were placed in a perfect environment in the garden. There were no thistles or thorns because it was the perfect environment. Adam and Eve were given a choice to TRUST what God said or do what satan suggested and know good and evil by experience. Their choice to disobey God opened the door for satan to bring evil into the earth. This did not surprise God because He knew what would happen and had planned all along to send His only begotten Son to redeem man and gain back the authority.
Satan is our enemy and has his own agenda to kill, steal, and destroy (read John 10:10). Satan is not all-powerful and needs to gain our agreement to bring evil in the earth. I believe when people say sickness, disease, and the evil that happens in the world is the sovereignty of God, it is actually the world operating under demonic influence. God is not the one who brings sickness and disease, He came that we would have life more abundantly as the second part of John 10:10 says. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (read 2 Peter 3:9). That is God’s will.
Yet people do perish, but it isn’t God’s will. He paid the price that ALL can be saved and redeemed, but we have been given the choice to receive or reject Him.
God formed man to collaborate with Him and He walked with Adam and Eve in the garden until sin was let in and changed things. In God’s sovereignty He set up the system to restore our authority on the earth as we are indwelt by His Holy Spirit. We have been given a vital role in bringing heaven’s agenda here on earth. God has done his part through Jesus Christ, let’s do ours by renewing our mind to the truth of the Word and not listen to the world’s definition of who Jesus is or who they say we are. Instead, believe what God say about Himself and us and do the works He did when He was here and even greater since He has gone to The Father!
My prayers are for us to hunger and thirst after the truth of The Word and to receive revelation knowledge deep within our hearts that will truly change us to become world-changing people who God intended us to be from the beginning!
